My weekend was filled with philanthropic socializing, anthropological fabrication and mutant vehicle maintenance. The Black Rock Arts Foundation was the beneficiary at the San Francisco Premiere of Voyage to Utopia, a film about David Best creating one of his temples for Burning Man. After the film, many attendees sauntered to the bohemian Cafe Flore for much imbibing and seriously eclectic schmoozing.

Saturday morning brought the usual jaunt to the Mind Shaft to continue fabricating Uncle Sam’s Elvis Island Immigration Station. The end of this day started by picking up Helvetica at the Larkspur Ferry. We drove to the Carneros wine region in southern Napa Valley to attend a Professional Food Society benefit dinner and wine tasting at Artesa Winery overlooking Di Rosa Preserve.

Sunday was  an excellent expedition to Drennon Ranch in West Marin to continue the maintenance on Huracan, the recreation of the God of Fierce Wind from the Mayan Culture. Our friends at Drennon Ranch are creating the Celtic Forest for Burning Man 2008.
